Free driving lesson for learners in Ringwood and Melbourne's eastern suburbs
Eligible Victorian learners can claim a free 60-minute driving lesson with Green Signals Driving School. Our instructors cover Ringwood, Mitcham, Blackburn, Nunawading, Vermont, Wantirna and the surrounding eastern suburbs of Melbourne — so if you live within an 8 km radius of Ringwood, a patient, professional instructor can come to you. It's a genuine, no-cost first lesson designed to build safe habits early and set you on the road to your P-plates on the Mitcham VicRoads circuit.
Eligibility requirements
To be eligible for a free lesson you must:
Hold a Victorian learner permit
A current VicRoads learner permit is required to take part.
Be 16–21 years old
The free lesson is available to young learners in this age range.
Have completed 10–50 hours of driving practice
You should already have some supervised hours logged in your myVicRoads logbook.
Have a fully licensed supervisor in attendance
The person who will supervise most of your driving must come along to the lesson.

Who the free lesson is for
The free 60-minute lesson is built for Victorian learners who have already started logging supervised hours but want professional guidance before bad habits set in. If you hold a Victorian learner permit, are aged 16 to 21, have between 10 and 50 hours on your logbook, and have a fully licensed supervisor who can attend the session, you qualify. Green Signals instructors serve learners right across Melbourne's eastern suburbs — from Ringwood and Mitcham out to Wantirna, Vermont and Blackburn — so your free lesson happens on familiar roads near home, often on the same Mitcham VicRoads routes you'll be tested on.
